- (Research):BAST, Beatrice V. - Beatrice Viola Bast, surrounded by her loved ones, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2007, at the Grand River Health Care Centre, in Kitchener. She was born in Maryborough Township 81 years ago. Daughter of the late Edward Cookman and the late Margaret Gooding. Beatrice was a member of the Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church. Beloved mother of Beverley and her husband Paul Dasiewicz of Waterloo, Paul Bast and Brenda Bast, both of St. Agatha. Dear sister of Florence Fleet of Palmerston. Ever remembered by her granddaughter Alison Dasiewicz of Waterloo and a nephew Robert Fleet of Palmerston. Sister-in-law of Mrs. June Hackett of Waterloo, Mrs. Tillie Frey of Waterloo and Mrs. Nancy Bast of Wellesley. Lovingly remembered by Sonia Dasiewicz of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Herb J. Bast November 4, 1985, by two brothers Russel Cookman and Angus Cookman and a sister May Iseral. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St. in Wellesley where family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the St. Agatha Mennonite Church on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. Pastor Doug Snyder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
