Funeral services were conducte
at Unionville for Rev. Jenkins Burk-
holder by Rev. DeCourey Rayner,
Markham, and Rev. Dr. Thomas
Mitchell, of Ringwood.
Rev. Mr. Burkholder was the son
of the late Daniel and Agnes Jenkins
Burkholder, of Unionville, both of
whom were members of U.E.L.
families, who came to Canada from
Pennsylvania at the turn of the last
century.
Born at Unionville, he spent all his
school days there, graduating into
the Presbyterian ministry from Knox
College in Toronto.
Although he spent some time dur-
in his student days in the West,
where he met and married Miss
Annie Pillar of British Columbia,
the most of his ministerial work was
in Eastern Ontario. His last charge
was in Morrisburg.
Rev. Mr. Burkholder, who was in
his 69th year, is survived by his
widow, one son, and two daughters,
as well as one sister, Mrs. H. Stiver
of Unionville.
