- (Research):Gospel Herald - Volume XLVII , Number 7 - February 16, 1954 page 166, 167Gimbel, Mrs. Harold, daughter of the late Elias and Rebecca (Mussleman) Shantz, was born near Elmira, Ont., July---, 1908; passed away at her home in Freeport, Jan. 25, 1954, after a lengthy illness; aged 45 y. 6 m. 17 d. She was a faithful member of the Preston Mennonite Church. She was married to Harold Gimbel, on July 11, 1928. Surviving are her husband, one son (Walter, of Freeport), one daughter (Helen-Mrs. Lawrence Weber, of Alma), 2 grandchildren, one brother (Irvin Shantz, of Baden), and 5 sisters (Mrs. Horace Hallman, of Freeport; Mrs. Roy Snider, of Strasburg; Mrs. Samuel Cressman, of Preston; Mrs. Wellington Weber, of Simcoe and Mrs. Eugene Kraft, of Kitchener). Three sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Jan. 28, at the Sterling Avenue Church, Kitchener, Ont., in charge of John H. Hess and Ben B. Shantz. Burial was made in the Preston Cemetery.
