SIEVENPIPER, 78
LAKELAND - Franklin Edward Reginald Sievenpiper, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Friday January 29, 2016.
Born in North Bay Ontario Canada on April 8, 1937 he moved to St. Pete in 1967. He worked for CF Industries as a chemical engineer for 34 years until retirement in 2003. He married is wife Joyce in Bartow in 1970 and moved to Brandon where they raised their family.
In 1981 after they moved to Lakeland, Frank took up running. He became a staple around Lake Hollingsworth in the '80s and '90s running in excess of 50 miles every week. One of his greatest accomplishments was running in the Western States 100 mile Endurance run in Sierra-Nevada California, not once but four times.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Eleanor Sievenpiper and sister Sharon Brady.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, children, Tammy Davis Van Loan (Craig), Karen Lyens (Gary), John Siev-enpiper (Shari) and Chris Sievenpiper, his grandkids, Kristen Davis, Hunter Lyens, Sean and Taylor Van Loan, and Brittany and Chase Sievenpiper. He also had 2 great grandchildren J.J and Kaylee.
In lieu of flowers donations to Lakeland Runners Club in Lakeland, Florida would be appreciated.
