FAMILY DINNER HONORS
COUPLE WED 50 YEARS
A family dinner that the Pines
Inn, Bridgeport, was held today
in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Noah
Knarr, 84 Norman Ave., Water-
loo, who are celebrating their
50th wedding anniversary Tues-
day.
Friends and relatives wll be
welcomed by the couple at their
home tomorrow. Among those at-
tending will be their bridal at-
tendants, Mrs. Albert Holtzworth
of Petersburg, and Mr. Albert
Heer of Waterloo.
BORN IN PETERSBURG
Mr. Knarr was born 77 years
ago in Waterloo Township, a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip
Knarr. He farmed at home until
his marriage Jan 13, 1909, to the
former Magdalena Heer at the
home of Bishop Jonas Snider of
Waterloo.
Mrs. Knarr, 73, is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heer of
Petersburg. Her husband was em-
ployed at Canada Barrrels and
Kegs Ltd., Waterloo, for 31 years
before his retirement.
ACTIVE IN CHURCH
The couple are members of
Erb Street Mennonite Church,
Waterloo, whre Mrs. Knarr is
active with the Sewing Circle.
Among her hobbies are sewing
quilts for the church group and
making footstools from covered
tin cans. Mr. Knarr enjoys after-
noon television and often reads
the Bible.
Their children are Mr. Wil-
liam (Marie) Martin and Mr.
Clayton Knarr of Freeport; Her-
bert of Niagara Falls, Ont.; Mil-
ford of Waterloo, and Lloyd of
Kitchener. There are 10 grand-
children and four great-grand-
children.
