- (Research):Gospel Herald - Volume 78, Number 16 -April 16, 1985, page 276, 277, 278 Snider, J. Stanley, son of Ephraim and Lucinda (Hallman) Snider, was born at Kitchener, Ont., Feb. 24, 1904;died of a heart attack at Cambridge Hospital, Mar. 15, 1985; aged 81 y. On Sept. 4, 1929, he was married to Erna Shantz, who died on Feb.2, 1978. Surviving are 4 sons (Paul, James, Kenneth, and Robert), 3 daughters (Miriam-Mrs. Howard Cressman, Audrey-Mrs. William MacDonald, and Lucille-Mrs. Elmer Ellison), 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and one brother (A. Leonard Snider). He was preceded in death by one daughter (Mary Carol) and one sister (Sylvia-Mrs. Solomon Gehman). He was a member of Preston Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Mar. 17, in charge of Brian Bauman and Paul Martin; interment in Mannheim Cemetery.

Stanley -- At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on March 15, 1985, John Stanley Snider formerly of RR 2, Atwood, aged 81 years.Former member of the Mannhein, Strasburg and Listowel Mennonite Churches.Presently a member of Preston Mennonite Church. Very active in the community inwhich he lived. Husband of the late Erma Snider (nee Shantz) who predeceased him in 1978.Father of Paul and his wife Dorothy of Ayr, James and his wife Janice ofCambridge, Kenneth and Wife Marie of Arwood, Robert of Ayr, Miriam (Mrs. HowardCressman) of Kitchener, Audrey (Mrs. William MacDonald) of Owen Sound andLucille (Mrs. Elmer Ellison) of Moorefield; brother of A. Leonard Snider ofWaterloo. Predeceased by his parents Ephram and Lucinda Snider; one daughterMary Carol and one sister Sylvia (Mrs. Solomon Gehman). Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W.,Saturday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service and committal will take place at PrestonMennonite Church Sunday at 3 p.m. Spring burial will take place at Mannheim Mennonite cemetery.
