Durward O. Bricker
Durward Overault Bricker, 55 years of age, one of the most respected dairy farmers in the Fernie District, and former resident of Calgary died at Fernie, Saturday. The late Mr. Bricker was the owner of a very successful farm 3 miles east of Fernie. Before engaging in the dairy business he was Manager of the Alberta Ice Company in Calgary, where he resided for 6-7 years.
He was born Port Elgin, Bruce County, Ontario. In his early youth he moved to Winnipeg, where he was employed by the Arctic Ice Company. He moved to Calgary in 1912. In the Fernie district he had a wide circle of friends, and was popular wherever he went. He took an active interest in the work of the United Church in Fernie.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rose, 4 sons: Frank, Albert, Norman and Douglas, and 2 daughters: Joy & Rose.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the United Church, Fernie.
