STEINMAN, Elda - Elda Barbara Steinman, 80, of Tavistock, passed away, in the PeopleCARE Health Care Centre, Tavistock, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, August 28, 2008. She was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County, on January 15, 1928, a daughter of the late Amos W. Ruby and the former Marion C. Roth. She was an avid gardener and sewer, enjoyed doing crafts and cooking as well as taking care of her family. She was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line. Elda is survived by her husband, Wallace Steinman, whom she married in East Zorra Township, on September 20, 1952; her daughter, Eileen Krampien of New Hamburg; two grandchildren, Julie and husband, Paul Brisley of Kitchener, Dale Krampien of New Hamburg; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Krampien of New Hamburg; two brothers, Samuel Ruby, John and wife Mary Ellen Ruby, all of Tavistock; four sisters, Marjorie Forler and Joyce Brenneman, both of New Hamburg, Patricia Bast of RR1, Shakespeare; Sharon and husband Bill Simmons of Embro; sister-in-law, Irene Ruby of Tavistock; "Steinman" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mahlon and Emma Steinman of Tavistock, Laverne and Ruth Steinman of Kitchener. Elroy and Loretta Lichti and Vernetta Steinman, all of New Hamburg; Robert and Doreen McCormick of Brantford and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Douglas Ruby; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Brenneman. Glenn Bast, Violet McCormick, Alvin and Ada Steinman, Orval and Patricia Steinman and Olin Steinman. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock today (Friday) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. Pastor Dave Rogalsky, assisted by Pastor Fred Lichti, will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line.
