She was married to Mark Jantzi 1965 and was Divorced in 1981. Mark has remarried.

NEW BREMEN - The funeral for Eunice Rhoda Jantzi, 58, Route 812, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Mennonite Church of New Bremen with the Revs. Arthur Zehr, her nephew, and Lester Bauman, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in Kirschnerville Mennonite Cemetery.
Ms. Jantzi died of cancer Tuesday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Kara Lucille and Morris McIntosh, Route 812, where she was under the care of Lewis County Hospice.
Arrangements are with Virkler-Percoski Funeral Home, Lowville.
In September 1979, Ms. Jantzi joined the faculty of Jefferson-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services, where she taught special education until her retirement on October 29, 1994. She had also taught kindergarten and first grade for the Hudson Falls, Candor and Fairbanks, Alaska, school districts, and was a primary school teacher at Beaver River Central School, Beaver Falls.
She was a longtime member of the First Mennonite Church of New Bremen and served on the board of the Mennonite Heritage Association in preservation of her great-grandfather's homestead in Kirschnerville. She was a member of the state Teachers Association and was interested in children's advocacy. She belonged to various adoptive parents groups. She was an avid reader and enjoyed animals, music and theater.
Born Nov. 16, 1940, at home in Castorland, daughter of Christian Y. and Martha Moser Zehr, she graduated as valedictorian from Beaver River Center School in 1958. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Goshen (Ind.) College in 1962 and a master's degree in education from Potsdam State University College in August 1965. She did additional work in special education at universities in Alaska and Wyoming and at New York University, New York City, completing her certification in special education at the College of St. Rose, Albany.
She married Mark R. Jantzi Aug. 14, 1965, at the First Mennonite Church of New Bremen. They were divorced in 1980.
Surviving besides her daughter are a son, Todd Alan, Alaska; another daughter, Anne Maria Jantzi, New Bremen; three brothers, Floyd and Levi Zehr, both of Castorland, and Donald P. Zehr, Lowville; five sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Luella) Martin, Croghan, Mrs. Elton (Maxine) Moser, Copenhagen, Mrs. David (Marie) Yousey and Pauline Zehr, both of Castorland, and Lucile Zehr, Mercer Island, Wash., a grandson and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
A sister, Edith, died in 1941.
