Obituary:
- Passed Peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday January 23, 2011 Gordon Howling of New Dundee, born in Wilmot Township 85 years ago. Son of the late Mannton and Ruby(Miller) Howling. Gordon was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Dundee. He owned and operated Howling's Automotive, a family buisness started by his father in 1922, and later along with his two sons until its closure in 2005. He also served in the RCAF in WWII. Past member of New Dundee Optimist club
Beloved Husband of Ruth Marie Aljoe whom he married February 3, 1951. Loving father of Linda Laarakkers & spouse Tom Fewkes of New Hamburg, Barbara & Christopher Pollock of Kitchener, John & Ruth Howling of Baden, Michael & Francine Howling of New Dundee, Jenniffer and Kim Eberley of Illinois, U.S.A. Also missed by brother-in-law David & his wife Beverly Aljoe of Britt, Ontario. Ever remembered by 9 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren, and Wayne Meisner of Kitchener.
Predeceased by sisters Myrtle, Twins Elizabeth & Robert, Marie & husband John Maxwell and Brother-in-law Leonard Stahlbaum. In laws Harry and Hilda Aljoe.
Cremation has occurred in keeping with Gord's wishes. A memorial visitation will occur on Thursday January 27, 2011 from 12 noon until the time of service at 3 pm at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home 291 Huron St. New Hamburg with Pastor Bonnie Schelter-Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy donation may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Cardiac unit or St. James Lutheran Church, New Dundee (Youth Program).
