- (Research):KAUK, Gwenythe Eileen (Gwen) 92, passed away January 16, 2012. Born December 31, 1919. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Daisy Wilfong of Doon. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Kauk and brothers Gilbert Jr., and Douglas; survived by her youngest brother John (Elaine) Wilfong of Doon. She is also survived by her five children: Charmaine (Bruce) Nunn of Neustadt; Rebecca (Carlo) Weickert of Halifax; William (Joanne) Kauk of Waterloo; Michael (Diane) Kauk of Brantford and Gregory (Angela) Kauk of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Keven (Woudie), Michael (Shelley) and Kathy (Paul) Nunn; Jeff (Danielle) and Jason (Karen) Weickert of Halifax; Brad (Elva) Kauk of Waterloo and Christine Kauk of Brantford; eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley and Stephanie Nunn; Ryan, Nicole and Mikayla Nunn; Kasey, Tyler and Alex Dunn; and Callie, April and Grace Weickert. Gwen was widowed at the age of 40 and raised and supported her children on her own. She began her working career at Sears, then to Canadian Revenue Agency and finished at Renison College, University of Waterloo where she rose to the position of Financial Officer. Many former students and faculty of Renison will remember Gwen with fondness. After retiring, Gwen volunteered at "Seniors for Seniors", travelled and enjoyed her extended family. Gwen was a life time member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. We will all remember her for her quick smile, witty sense of humour and willingness to turn her hand to anything that needed to be done or to anyone who needed help. She will be missed. There will be a private family Memorial/Interment Ceremony for Gwen at Woodland Cemetery. Donations in Gwen's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
