Obituary:
- YANTZI, Ken - Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Stratford General Hospital. Ken Yantzi of New Hamburg in his 89th year.
Beloved husband of Alma (Wagler) Yantzi whom he married on August 6, 1952. Loving father of Gloria (Clare) Lebold, Marilyn (Don) Steinmann, Lynn Yantzi (Nancy Steinmann Yantzi), Marvin (Janet) Yantzi, Maynard (Connie) Yantzi. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Annastasia), Chad (Julie), Michael (Megan), Krista (Eric), Brent (Karen), Stephen (Janessa), Andrew (Allison), Dylan (Hannah), Jared, Marcus (Tosha), Katie (Trevor), Jesse and great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his sister and brothers; Violetta Borntrager, Orlin (Eileen) Yantzi, Earl Yantzi (Alma Conn), brothers and sisters-in-law; Emmalien Lichti, Ruby Wagler, Erma (Merlin) Bender, Lydia (Glen) Schumm as well as by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father and mother Joseph and Emma (Yutzi) Yantzi, sister, Barbara Ann in infancy, brother Hubert (Dorothy) Yantzi, brothers and sisters-in-law; Oscar Borntrager, Stanley (Ruby) Wagler, Elmon Lichti, Lloyd Wagler and Daniel (Audrey) Wagler.
Ken was an active member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, Tavistock. Ken throughout his life was known for his generosity, kindness, humour, hard work and love for his wife and family and his faith in God.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home. 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at East Zorra Mennonite Church, Tavistock with Pastors Ray Martin and Tanya Dyck Steinmann officiating. A graveside service will commence in the adjoining church cemetery prior to the funeral service at 1:15 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations would be kindly accepted to the Stratford General Hospital - New Digital X-Ray Machine Fund or East Zorra Mennonite Church - Refugee Sponsorship. (Cheques Accepted).
