SCHLEGEL, Ann - Entered into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Monday October 6, 2008 after a courageous 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis at K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Ann was born February 16, 1940 in Noranda, Quebec, a daughter of the late Rev. Leslie and Josephine (Graham) Barnhart. She graduated from Nursing at Montreal General Hospital in 1961 and was employed in the Operating Room at St. Mary's General Hospital for a number of years. Ann resided at RR2 Petersburg where she farmed with her husband Don for many years. She was a faithful member of Wilmot Centre Missionary Church where she enjoyed fellowship and bible study. Ann had been a volunteer at peopleCare, Tavistock and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning, gardening and especially Sunday dinners with her family. Beloved wife of Donald Clare Schlegel who predeceased her November 25, 2007. Dear mother of Glenda and Bruce Comfort of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Carolyn and Hughbee Brown of Conestogo Lake, Heidi and Mark Tadeson of Hamilton and Wendy and Bruce Lantz of R.R.2 Petersburg. Loving grandma of Jared, Dillon, Nathan, Jalissa, Samantha, Darian, William, Amy, Alex, Emily, Natalie, Aaron and Julia. Sadly missed by her sisters, Ruth and Jim Lafleur of Deux Montagnes, Quebec and Nancy and Bernie Cormier of Thunder Bay. Lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary and O'Derald Gingerich of Baden, Robert and Myrna Schlegel of Dallas, Texas. Also remembered by a number of nieces and nephews. Ann is fondly remembered, and was wonderfully cared for by her primary caregivers Nancy Cormier, Jean Barron and Judy Michael along with many supportive caregivers over the years. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 (today) from 7-9 p.m. and again Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Wilmot Centre Missionary Church with Rev. Don Mills and Rev. Wayne Domm officiating. Interment in Wilmot Centre Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 100 Huntley Street or Wilmot Centre Missionary Church. Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
