After their marriage, they moved to the Souder farm, which was on the Speed River, midway between Hespeler and Preston. When Christian died at age 60, Victoria carried on the farm with the help of her two youngest sons, Edward and Maurice. However, as neither liked farming, she, her sons and daughter, Laura, moved to Preston. Her son, Daniel of Huron County, MI returned to Canada and bought the home-place.
