Married:
- Daniel and Janet were married in April 1894 and in 1896 moved to Michigan. Daniel travelled in a buggy with 2 horses, while Janet and their baby went by train. They farmed in Michigan for 11 years. During that time, Daniel cleared the land and built a fine house and barn on it. In 1906, the family came back to Canada, Daniel having purchased the home-place from his mother. It is a very picturesque farm, with rolling hills and low flats that border the Speed River. He built 6 houses on the farm and helped with several others. In 1913, this group of homes was named "Beaverdale" after him and members of the Beaver family can still be found there.
